Dave has founded and served as an executive of electronics and IT companies. Through this experience, he has learned what it takes to make good companies great.
Dave served as an Executive Vice President and General Manager for Avocent Corporation, a small IT infrastructure management company that grew nearly 20 fold into a large, successful organization, selling later for $1.2 billion.
Most recently, he co-founded and served as the CEO of a startup software company focused on developing and marketing remote access and control solutions for data-centers, which displaced legacy appliance-based technologies.
He recruited a team for software development, business, marketing and QA documentation and developed channel partners in North America, Europe and Asia for pilot tests with major data-center/lab customers as proof-of-concept.
Earlier in this career, Dave served as an executive for Texas Instruments and other leading electronics companies.
Currently, Dave is a consultant to the University of Texas - IC2 Institute's Global Commercialization Group focused on identifying and commercializing key technologies on a worldwide basis. He also serves as an advisor and board member for several other organizations.
