Biography

Ed is a senior executive with extensive public-private sector experience in both emerging markets and developed markets. He currently is Director of Development, Asia, for Columbia University. Ed served as COO and Chief Development and Partnership Officer at KickStart International, a leading international development non-profit. Results oriented with demonstrable achievements. Strong people management skills; capacity & infrastructure building experience; and business development & partnerships experience. Currently, Chief Development and Partnership Officer for KickStart International, an award-winning non-profit & social enterprise with a mission to help people out of poverty. KickStart designs, markets, and sells simple moneymaking technologies that subsistence farmers buy and use to start highly profitable family businesses. The profits from their business enable them to escape from poverty resulting in sustainable economic development. Edward's education includes Executive Education in Social Entrepreneurship at INSEAD in France, an MBA from the University of Michigan, a Masters in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech.
