Mr. Woolf is a Founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Shiboomi LLC. Shiboomi is an international business development firm that specializes in the creation and execution of strategic growth opportunities for corporations and projects at their critical stages of development. As CEO of Shiboomi, Mr. Woolf has helped build many companies in a variety of industries around the world. Mr. Woolf has a deep expertise in the formation and execution of corporate strategy and vision as well as developing, negotiating, and executing successful capital raising campaigns and strategic partnerships. He also has a depth of experience in leading businesses through the challenges of transition and development.
Mr. Woolf’s current primary focus is expanding Shiboomi’s China Program. Seeing the vast demand in China for Western technologies in particular industries and the opportunities and resources that strong Chinese partners can provide to Western companies, Mr. Woolf developed a China program within Shiboomi. Shiboomi’s China program was created specifically to bridge appropriate Western companies and novel technologies into the Chinese market. In 2012, Mr. Woolf began building a robust network of leading Chinese conglomerates, strategic partners, and strategic investors in a wide variety of industries, along with a team of seasoned Chinese executives to help execute the program. Shiboomi is currently reviewing and selecting novel technology companies from the US and Europe that meet the current demands of the Chinese market. These companies must also have strong management teams who are both eager and prepared for the challenges of this cross-border and cross-cultural business expansion opportunity. Shiboomi helps novel technology companies in the US and Europe that meet current demands in the Chinese market execute complex joint ventures and other types of strategic partnerships and collaborations with appropriate Chinese companies. Shiboomi also helps execute direct investments from Chinese companies and funds into US and European companies.
Prior to founding Shiboomi, Mr. Woolf was a leader in the sports and entertainment representation and marketing field. At the age of 18, Mr. Woolf created his first enterprise in the field of representing NBA basketball players in their European efforts. By the age of 20, he had negotiated contracts in the NFL, NBA, and Major League Baseball. After graduating from Harvard University in 1987, he began taking on business development efforts for Bob Woolf Associates. Bob Woolf Associates was a leading sports and entertainment representation and marketing firm. The firm was founded by Gary’s father, Bob Woolf, who was considered one of the country's first sports agents and one of the founders of the field. The firm represented over 1,000 professional athletes and entertainers over its life cycle in contract negotiations. Notable clients included Larry Bird, Joe Montana, Carl Yastrzemski, Doug, Flutie, Tommy Glavine, David Wells, New Kids on the Block, Larry King, and Boyz II Men, to name a few. The company represented athletes in the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, Olympic Athletes, Indy, NASCAR, Formula 1, the PGA, and Women's Sports. The firm also represented TV and radio personalities as well as musicians and musical groups. In addition, the company had a literary agency, business management and investment divisions, and co-founded the Champions Sports Bar concept with the Marriott Corporation. Bob Woolf Associates was also one of the leading sports marketing agencies of its time. Mr. Woolf served in various business development roles for the company during the 1987-1993 period, helping the company build grow into new areas of business. After his father's death in 1993, Mr. Woolf took over as CEO of the company and ran Woolf Associates through the sale of the company. Mr. Woolf is a cum laude graduate of Harvard University.
